We are using the spelling program that accompanies the Harcourt Storytown reading series.
A different spelling pattern will be introduced each week on Monday.The pretest is also given on that day.
Based on their scores on the pretest, students will have one of two different lists:
Regular List: Students who incorrectly spell two or more words on the pretest will work on the regular list.There are 15 words on this spelling list. There are also 5 challenge words. Studying the challenge words is optional. Spelling challenge words correctly on the test results in extra points.
Challenge List: Students who receive a score of 93% (one wrong) or higher on the pretest will work with a "Challenge List" for that week. There are 15 spelling words on this list.
To practice their spelling words, all children will have 3 practice activities to complete. Those assignments are given out on Monday and due on Friday.
Spelling tests are on Friday.

Be careful - there are several Washburns and two Karen Washburns! Be sure you click on the one from Foxborough! My class' lists are posted there.
